I returned to Westminster Cathedral in 1959 as Assistant Master of Music and in 1961 was appointed its Master of Music. In those days the complete Office of the Church was sung daily in Latin and I was responsible for fifteen Services a week. The boy choristers came from the Choir School and the five tenors and basses were professional singers. We sang an extensive repertoire and standards were extremely high.
