You need great skill to act as a Cantor for Responsorial Psalms. But it's a skill you can acquire. I've heard a lot of very unsatisfactory attempts and I would like to suggest ways of achieving good results. Preparation and practice are essential. Study the text, read it out loud, see where the accents lie and how it scans. The more familiar you are with the words the better your canting will be.
