There's a new vogue in Churches - and it's an excellent idea. It's the appointment of an Organ Scholar. This is to be highly recommended. It's good for the scholar, good for the organist and choir, and good for the church. It will work in large parishes, particularly those that have a music college in the vicinity, but it will not work for the small country parish.
